About West Pride – Gothenburg LGBTQ Festival

The festival is a unique cultural festival highlighting the standard criticism and LGBT persons’ lives in an artistic and cultural context. Our intention is to visibility a diversity of expression by coordinating and organizing art and culture of the highest quality. But also to create meeting places and arenas for knowledge recess, conversation and reflection. Through art and culture, we encourage an open and tolerant social climate in Gothenburg and western Sweden. A climate that counteracts prejudice and discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity.

West Pride serves as an umbrella that coordinates the program which is organized by various cultural actors in city. Items on the program taking place in their own buildings or the shared arenas Everyone that stands behind the festival’s values are welcome to arrange program items. West Pride was founded in 2007 (LGBT GBG) of the Gothenburg City Theatre, Culture House Blå Stället, Stora Teatern (former Pusterviksteatern) , Röhsska museet and Världskulturmuseet.
